I live in Wales but have taught in East Anglian schools and have also lived and worked in New Zealand for 20 years. I am an examiner and team leader for Cambridge International AS Language; an examiner for IB and the Euro Bacc exams and an English Orals Examiner for the European Bacc schools. I co-authored the accredited AS and A-level English language textbook for Cambridge International. I have recently been working on AI technology to help students improve their knowledge and exam skills in English Language.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for many years and am accredited in the UK and New Zealand where I have taught in secondary schools and sixth form colleges. I started my secondary school teaching career as a Geography teacher and I have also taught A-level Psychology, Media and Film Studies, as I studied and gained qualifications in those subjects. I have taught online for over ten years and have had online work at a Polish school.

Tutoring Approach

I like to think that I am an approachable and conscientious tutor, who applies my experience gained over many years, to the varied needs of my pupils and tutees. I have tutored pupils living worldwide; pupils who for many reasons have not followed a school-based education and pupils who need additional support. Students whom I have tutored, have generally made significant progress.
I believe in having regular contact with the parents of my tutees and regularly give them evidence-based feedback. I am flexible with tutees' commitments and feel that I give positive and encouraging lessons. Homework is given and marked, to build on skills learned I offer a free taster lesson and work on the assumption of a programme of lessons, though no one is tied into long term contracts. I invoice parents at the end of each month.
