My academic background includes further research training at Harvard Medical School (USA), a PhD and Masters from Queen Mary University of London, and a BSc from University of Bristol (Biochemistry).

My focus areas are biology and chemistry. I am comfortable teaching (in person and online) and reviewing coursework.

I am friendly, patient and tolerant, allowing me to teach various levels of tutees. However, I am most comfortable teaching at GCSE level. Most importantly, I am a responsible person who cares greatly about tutees and want them to do the best they can rather than just a passing grade!

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for several years, ranging from primary school to university. More importantly I've been a mentor, helping students and mentees figure out their next steps.

I've been successful at tutoring with the aim of better exam grades. I've also been successful at reviewing university dissertations, GSCE coursework and IB extended essays. This comes from several years of scientific writing. Previously I've also helped primary students who have fallen behind in maths and science.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring sessions are based around the student and their needs. Whether it is teaching, proof-reading or help with homework, I can provide help in all aspects.

I have a custom approach to tutoring depending on what works best with the tutee, whether it be through humour, discipline or repetition. Sometimes there's just a missing link between current knowledge and the curriculum: I identify those so the tutee can continue to thrive.

As much as possible I like to make sessions interesting and interactive.
