Hi there, my name is Mathew and I am currently employed as a full time Chemistry teacher at a School of the decade international school. And was previously teaching at an 'Outstanding' school based in High Barnet. I have over 6 years teaching experience at secondary school and A-Level. In addition, I have also been tutoring for around 8 years. I have experience teaching students from Year 7 all the way to Year 13 (upper-sixth).
I went to Kingston University London to study and acquiring a First Class degree in BSc Biochemistry, so I have excellent knowledge in Chemistry and Biology.
I am available all weekday evenings for 1-2 hours and on Saturday mornings for up to 3 hours. Of course, if you want to hire me for extended periods (eg. half-term) I will available weekday and weekend mornings for up to 3 hours.
I went to Kingston University London to complete my PGCE, where i gained valuable experiences in two very different placements. I have been teaching at a state secondary school for over 4 years, where I have gained vast teaching experience in teaching engaging and differentiated lessons for all abilities and all ages (from KS3 to A-level). Furthermore I have been running the school STEM club, which undoubtedly developed my skills in building strong, professional, relationship with students which has had a positive impact back in the classroom.
Different students learn differently and it is important for me to identify their unique learning style. My role is to provide tools for students to problem solve and think for themselves. Below is a summary of my approach:
