I am a 21-year-old student currently studying French and German at the University of Central Lancashire and I am about to start my fourth and final year. I spent my third year teaching English as a Language Assistant in a school in France.
I have always had a passion for languages since a young age and have always wanted to share my knowledge with others.
Having lived in France for a year, I now have a more in-depth knowledge of the language and the culture which I aim to bring to all my lessons.
I have had invaluable teaching experience which has helped me decide that I want to be a teacher in the future.
Ever since I started learning TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in my first year of university, I have known that teaching is the career for me!
I lived for a year in France teaching English to students aged 11-15 where I created activities on pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary for the different age groups in my school. This has helped me learn how to appropriate my lessons to the levels/abilities of my students.
While at university I am also studying TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). This has helped me learn about the theory of teaching which has also helped me throughout my teaching life.
I like to make lessons fun but ensure that the main focus is developing the language. I enjoy doing grammar and creating activities to help my students understand it. I like to create games which help the acquisition of vocabulary and also improve pronunciation or grammar. I am happy to adapt to the needs of the students and focus on the specific areas that they want to do or need to do for school.
