I have been a primary teacher for 16 years and been tutoring for 9 years. I have been fortunate to experience promoted posts as a principle teacher and then as a Depute Head Teacher. During this time I have had the pleasure of tutoring many students through National 5 and higher maths as well as primary and secondary school pupils in english and maths. I have also helped many students achieve positive results in entrance exams for private schools such as RGU, Albyn School, St Margaret's and the International School. I am familiar with the entrance exam requirements and am skilled in preparing my pupils to put their best foot forward on the day of their entrance exams. I am patient, enthusiastic and approachable. I always put my learners at ease and adapt my approach to the needs of my learners.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a class teacher for 16 years and have gained experience working in mainstream class but also as an additional support teacher. This helped me to develop skills in approaching learning in many different ways and adapting to match the needs of the learner. It also helped me to develop an understanding and skill in ensuring a deep understanding of the core fundamentals of maths and english which can then be built on and added to. I have tutored many pupils successfully in achieving their learning goals as well as later in their academic journey in obtaining the grades they hoped for in their exams.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is highly adaptable and stems from the needs of my learner. I tailor programmes of work in order to ensure success for my learners but also place considerable importance in raising pupils self confidence and their love for learning. I pride myself in ensuring my pupils develop and achieve their potential in both of these goals.
