I'm a native, Cambridge-CELTA-qualified British tutor, translator, interpreter and teacher with C2 fluency in Spanish. I have been speaking Spanish since I was 16 and have lived and worked in Valladolid, Spain, often touted as the capital of the Spanish language and home to home to Spain's answer to Shakespeare, Cervantes. I am available for tutoring offering either Spanish to English-speaking students or English to Spanish-speaking students.

I previously worked as an English teacher with my own classes at a private languages academy in Spain and now provide both English classes to foreign students and Spanish classes to native English-speaking students at academies and through my own classes.

The English I speak is from the South of England and is categorized as Received Pronunciation, which is a beneficial variety of English for foreign-language speakers to learn.

In turn, the Spanish I speak is Iberian and my accent is best characterized as being from the Castilla y León region.

Tutoring Approach

As someone who has spent years learning languages themselves, I don't believe in simple repetition or memorization to be an effective method of language acquisition. Instead, I believe that the learner must be as immersed as possible in the language in order to achieve a level of fluency that doesn't just convince others, but convinces the speaker themselves, providing them with the confidence to put themselves out there as a firm speaker of that language.
