I am a Bristol-based bassist and guitarist with 8 years of experience playing live and recording with different bands/artists. I work across a range of genres such as pop, RNB, funk, jazz and heavy rock. I graduated from BIMM in 2022 with a BA Hons in Professional Musicianship at BIMM Institute. During my time at BIMM and since leaving, I have established myself on the Bristol scene working in the house band for different jam nights, playing function gigs and organising shows with my original band Sedated Society.
Since graduating from university I have started teaching a few students weekly. I have been teaching bass guitar and electric guitar along with some basic music theory.
I tend to take a more relaxed approach to teaching as opposed to the grading system many are familiar with. I feel it is important to understand what the student should be learning based on their style and ability. My responsibility as your tutor would be to plan lessons that accommodate your music taste and your goals on the instrument and as a musician. The lessons planned would aim to cover the techniques, stylistic choices, tone and music theory relevant to your style. I have an eclectic taste and knowledge of music genres so I feel as though I can accommodate anyone looking to upgrade their bass/guitar chops!
