I am a graduate in French and Maths from Trinity College Dublin, but have lived in Somerset all my life, with 4 As at A level in Chemistry, French, Maths and Further Maths from a West country school. I run a start-up business and enjoy tutoring for 'pocket money'!
I am fluent in French, after having lived and worked there throughout my university years, and I love the country as well as the language.
I am also very keen on sport, playing Hockey and netball at intervarsity level, but riding is my main sport - I was once a stunt double in a film for the Bond actress Eva Green!
I have been tutoring every evening through term time for seven years and my pupils have all grown in ability and confidence - please refer to my references for more details. I specialise in GCSE and A Level maths teaching and have come to recognise common sticking points for pupils of all abilities and have enjoyed finding different ways of explaining them until my pupil understands.
With two younger siblings, I have plenty of experience in the softer side of academic coaching and exam revision, as well.
I have successfully coached a Dublin school netball team for two seasons during my time at university, as well as having sole responsibility for teaching French children to ride in the South of France on a summer holiday camp.
I have learnt to tailor my approach to the person I am teaching, but aim to combine patience and confidence-building with challenges and a friendly, approachable disposition.
