Mellissa

I am an educator and artist. I am a mixed media artist and work with many different materials and concepts including sculpture, painting, drawing, digital art, photography, technology, and so on. I work professionally as an artist, supply teacher and workshop leader. Working as a supply teaching across Kent and specialising in the Art and English has been incredible and during this difficult time, offering online support for artists is what I need to be doing, I aid development through writing at all levels and coursework guidance. I also offer portfolio help and lessons on understanding the way to develop your work to get the highest grade possible.

Tutoring Experience

My teaching experience is vast and has been growing since 2012, I have worked as a supply teacher across Kent and Thanet for many different subjects over the last 3 years and have been building my experience since 2012 in various educational environments, this includes: SEN, PRU, KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and so on.

I currently teach creative skills at a local grammar school and help students with essay writing, I also run workshops in galleries for students of all ages and abilities in high profile venues such as the Eden Project, the Royal Society,

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching depends on the student. I have experience working with children who have learning difficulties and consider myself having broad teaching techniques. When teaching art I like the student to be hands on about experimenting with new materials as well as heavy theory to aid their development within their projects. I also teach writing at all levels and link this to the students practical work so that the development goes hand in hand. I am available to travel to the students house or meet half way, which ever way suits the student.

I teach a variety of areas, Art, Art History, Essay Writing, Adobe Software, Sculpture, Illustration, Graphic Design, Painting, Computer Skills, Animation, Portfolio construction, Presenting/Public Speaking.
