I'm a highly qualified tutor with over 10 years experience tutoring SEND learners. I take a whole-person approach to learning, discovering and building on the learners strengths to ensure we build confidence and motivation to succeed.

I teach English Language (GCSE and Functional Skills), Psychology (GCSE and A-level) and the Arts Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold levels - with Silver being equivalent to a GCSE and Gold being equivalent to A-level). I think the Arts Award qualification is fantastic and is great for building confidence and skills that increase employability. I teach the arts award in a range of art forms and am guided by the learners interests. Nail art is currently a popular choice!

Tutoring Experience

I have 25 years of teaching experience. I hold a first class degree in psychology from the University of Leeds, and postgraduate qualifications in coaching and mentoring, HR and other business topics. I have experience of working in the Corporate world, holding posts such as Head of Organisation Effectiveness, Head of Transformation and Head of Organisational Capability. My experience in these roles mean that I am highly experienced in the world of business and in identifying learners strengths, setting appropriate career goals and helping learners to succeed in following their chosen path towards success. I have also worked as an Editor and a Head of Content so again can advise students on the application of their learning in these contexts. I am a qualified Arts Award adviser/assessor and run an approved Arts Award Training Centre online, allowing my students to gain their qualification from Trinity College London by going through me.

Tutoring Approach

I approach tutoring with a focus on the individual's style of learning and their aspirations, strengths and individual challenges. I seek to get to know them as an individual and help them to increase their confidence as well as their knowledge and capabilities, by focusing on the chosen subject.
