I am a full time English teacher and member of a Senior Leadership Team based in the Cardiff area. I have been a qualified teacher for ten years and have a broad range of experiences teaching 11-18 year olds, from private one-to-one tuition, class room teaching and small group sessions. With a background in pastoral leadership, I have particular expertise working with young people who can feel anxious about their progress, as well as those who need that extra support to re-engage fully in their learning.
My own academic background is grounded in English and History (BA Hons 1st Class) and have recently been awarded a Masters in Educational Leadership.
I have been teaching for eleven years. In my current role I teach KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature as well as A Level English Literature. I also have experience as an Examiner for the WJEC, in both Literature and Language, and have knowledge of a wide range of examination specifications.
My approach is friendly with high expectations. I believe that with hard work, any learner can reach their goals and the grades they deserve. I enjoy spending time understanding a learner's interests so that we can make a bespoke learning plan to meet their goals, whilst also helping them to appreciate and love the subject!
