I have taught in both State and Private Education through my career as a teacher, along with Privately Tutoring for all ages groups in English Language and Literature. I believe education, as a life-long journey should offer not only academic rigour, but aspiration, enjoyment and a holistic view of the development of the whole child.
My teaching career to date has afforded me the opportunity to develop as a competent, confident practitioner. I have consistently and successfully applied best practice in my teaching to empower students to be successful regardless of their prior attainment. Furthermore, I have worked with a full range of students with ages ranging from 4 to 18, those with special education needs and/or disabilities, through to high achieving A-level students.
I have experience of teaching a range of subjects; I ensure all lessons contain various degrees of scaffold and extension, no matter what they are engaging in, enabling the students to learn both independently and collaboratively in order to critically explore the subject matter. I very much enjoy the process of empowering students to learn in this way and it has also allowed me to closely monitor their progress and, where appropriate, I am able to stretch, challenge and support them in order to think critically, and engage passionately with the topic.
