I’m a passionate and experienced tutor with a First-Class degree in English Literature and a Master’s in Prose Fiction from the University of East Anglia, one of the UK’s most prestigious and competitive writing programmes. Alongside tutoring, I work professionally as a writer and editor, bringing both academic rigour and creative insight into my teaching. I thrive on helping students develop their confidence, voice, and analytical skills—whether for coursework, exams, or university preparation. I specialise in writing skills and textual analysis.
I have extensive experience working with students from GCSE through to undergraduate level, supporting them with essay writing, critical analysis, and structured academic argument. My background spans one-to-one tuition, small-group teaching, and online mentoring, and I’ve worked across various exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and the IB. I’ve helped students improve their coursework, prepare for external assessments, and refine personal statements. My work focuses on developing students’ ability to think independently and creatively, to write persuasively and to meet academic criteria with clarity and confidence.
My approach is student-led, responsive, and grounded in clear communication. I tailor each session to the learner’s needs, combining close reading and discussion with practical tools to improve structure, clarity, and critical thinking. I place a strong emphasis on building confidence and nurturing intellectual curiosity. Whether guiding a student through the nuances of a literary text or refining their academic writing style, my goal is always to help them feel empowered and prepared—not just for their next assignment, but for the demands of higher education and beyond. I’m warm, encouraging, and professional, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping students grow.
