I am an experienced maths tutor with a first class BSc, MSc (distinction) and PhD in Mathematics and a background in medical statistics.
I can take some students face to face in Southampton (student needs to travel to me).
I am friendly and approachable and passionate about Maths.
I started tutoring maths 20 years ago during my PhD. At the time I was teaching undergraduate maths for first year engineering and maths students at the University of Southampton. After completing my Masters degree in Statistics, I worked at the medical research council and taught on the MSc in Statistics with Applications in Medicine course at the University of Southampton. Over the past 20 years I have particularly focussed on tutoring primary and secondary levels, gaining a wide experience teaching SEN students.
I am patient and enthusiastic, and I enjoy making maths fun and relevant to real life. I am committed to building my students confidence, providing a friendly and supportive learning environment. I tailor my tutoring to the needs of each individual, helping them improve their knowledge gaps and establish a solid foundation to build on.
