I hold a B.Sc. Honours Degree, PGCE, QTS
I have over 30 years of Science/Chemistry GCSE and A Level teaching experience in UK Secondary Schools and Colleges.
I have been a Teacher Trainer and Programmed Leader for The Cambridge University Qualification called Cambridge International Certificate for Teachers and Trainers. One hundred overseas candidates secured this Internationally recognised teaching qualification from University of Cambridge, England.
I am a passionate teacher who believes every child is capable of learning and enhancing life skills. Students respond to teacher expectations and I set high expectations. I plan lessons to suit cognitive abilities of students so they learn in a supportive engaging environment and take responsibility for their progress. I use verbal auditory and kinaesthetic learning activities and give immediate feedback so student reflect and raise their confidence. I use a variety of learning activities including differentiated tasks, Information Technology, collaborative engagement with peers, independent learning tasks, teamwork and groupwork. Peer marking and question/ answer sessions and practice past exam questions build confidence in students.
In summary student learning is central to my teaching and learning approach in a mutually respectful classroom environment.
