Hi, my name is Mona, having recently completed my A-levels with a focus on Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, I am keen on passing on my passion for Maths to the younger students out there who are looking for extra support in their studies ,since I have always felt obliged to help others with the knowledge that I acquire.
My academical Qualifications:
A-Levels (2022-2024): I passed all of my A-Level subjects and achieved an A in A-Level Mathematics.
GSCE (2017-2022): My grades varied from B-A*, I received an 8 (A/A*) in Higher Mathematics.

My qualities as a Tutor:
• Kind and friendly, as well as strict and encouraging.
• Approachable as I like to have my students open up to me and always ask for support if they need it.
• Thorough and attentive, I like to be prepared and organised.
• Positive since the mindset is what enables us to strive to do better.

Tutoring Experience

• Tutoring job after school (3-months) - I was assigned with two Secondary School students who struggled in Maths and required extra support and guidance. I was given instructions to focus on topics which they needed the most guidance in since it was the upcoming to their end-of-year exams. I was tasked with planning and preparing the lessons and supervise them though the work that I had assigned them.
• I volunteered in many events in-school and after-school classes where I helped as a supporting teacher, giving support to certain individuals who need it.
• I have been giving weekly languages classes, for the past year and a half, to students with a varied age range from 5-18 years of age.

Training:
I took a basic training course before being able to start my tutoring job. I was able to understand the expectations that a tutor must have for themselves and their students.

Tutoring Approach

• Efficiency: I make sure that my students walk away from a session having tried their best and achieved the most they can in the time given. I aim use my time with my student to cover the lesson objectives as well as provide extra support through anything that they find difficult.

• Respect: Being respectful and polite is a quality that I value a lot. I expect that my students reciprocate my attitude towards them with positivity and respect too.

• Growth: I aim to help my students confidently develop their knowledge and skills, even if they never saw themselves doing so. I like to provide positive encouragement to my students to help them really understand what they are capable of.

• Flexibility: I respect that students may have sudden change in plans so I like to give them the freedom to notify me if they can not attend, however, I do expect that that time is to be rescheduled for another time.

• Approach : Despite my strict approach to delivering my lessons and making sure that students complete given tasks and I ask of them, I believe that this should be achieved in a kind and friendly way so that the student understands that what I ask is purely for their own benefit and development.

• Proactive: I plan my lesson thoroughly to ensure all topics are covered with good enough time to review over any particular struggles that my students needs assistance with.
