Monte

I am 24 years old and have recently finished with a first class integrated master's degree in theoretical physics from Imperial College london, coming in the top 10% of my cohort.

Throughout my academic life I have always had immense joy in sharing knowledge and helping other's conceptual understanding, primarily with maths and science. I have always been known as one of the guys to go to for help and have never passed on the opportunity when asked.

About my interests outside of physics and maths, I'm interested in Philosophy, having taken extracurricular courses, and enjoy playing guitar and music in general. Throughout my life I have been an avid artist and have been commisioned portraits. I enjoy cycling and last summer I and two friends completed a "bike-packing" tour across the Balkans.

I am a patient, easy going person that has a wide variety of interests. I have been taught in both a state school and a private school and have immersed myself in a wide range of people from all sorts of diverse backgrounds.

Tutoring Experience

I currently tutor a second year undergraduate quantum mechanics and electromagnetism and have received 5 star feedback.
During my course I helped teach and run first year laboratory, helping first-year students get to grips with coding in Python.
I have been leading study groups throughout secondary school and sixth form. At university, I have often been consulted by my peers for help with conceptual understanding, having distributed full written solutions to several of the exams that did not have available solutions.

Tutoring Approach

I have found it best to find a particular concept that someone struggles with and break it down into simpler terms until it clicks. This is almost always through a simple problem, building up to more complex problems that may draw from other parts of the person's knowledge via simple analogies such that the ideas all link together.
Ultimately, knowledge is tested in an exam, so I consider correct exam technique and hitting the requirements of the specification a key skill to work on to achieve great marks.
