Changing my approach to revision from A-level to university helped me achieve a First in Economics and Accounting BSc from Brunel University London. Doing so without the stress I experienced during A-levels was beneficial for both my mental and physical health.
I want to help students who are currently feeling the pressures of revision to study more effectively and perform well in their exams.
Subjects I Teach:
Maths (Up to University Level): GCSE A-level, University
Accounting (Up to University Level: ): A-level, AAT, University
Economics (Up to University Level): GCSE, A-level, University
I am passionate about the field of business and hope to pass on the skills I’ve gained through my academic and professional experiences to students looking to build confidence in their studies. I also aim to help students understand the real-world relevance and applications of what they’re learning.
Having achieved a First in my degree, I am eager to share evidence-based revision strategies with those who need them most.
Additionally, I have a strong understanding of cryptocurrencies and can explain how decentralised finance (DeFi) offers an alternative to the centralised financial systems that currently dominate global markets.
I have tutored at a tuition centre in the past. And have also helped many friends during university to change their revision approach. I have also helped with grammar entry prep tests to a few students whose parents at the time requested it.
Most of the topics I am good at tutoring revolves around maths: differentiation/integration, ratios, statistics, matrices, econometrics, mechanics, logical reasoning, numerical reasoning. supply and demand graphs, quadratics equations (graphs) etc...
Since a lot of the maths topics can be used around business, science and economics. I am well positioned to be able to to tutor students arounds those topics.
I would often be the first person to understand a topic and explain it to friends during a group revision session. Fortunately we have all done well together at university!
To focus on weaker areas and build understanding from the ground up, I like to review the material before the session. This helps me prepare thoroughly and ensures the student gets the most out of our time together.
I also hope for the revision to be engaging as it is best for the student. If a student is asking me questions for example, it is good sign that they are understanding the topic rather than regurgitating the topic.
