I have a fun and calm personality that makes learning easy. I have a flexible approach and can work to suit a student's needs and I believe in well prepared lessons and resources. Students feel safe in my presence. I have extensive and current knowledge of exam curriculums for Modern Foreign Languages, Maths and English Language. I currently work in a mainstream secondary school.

Tutoring Experience

My PGCE training as a Modern Foreign Language Teacher with the University of Bath has made me an exceptional language teacher. I have over 15 years of teaching French, Italian and German in primary and secondary schools. I also have extensive knowledge of teaching English as a Foreign Language while living abroad for over 15 years. I have taught both adults at evening classes and also at primary and secondary level. I am currently working with small groups of SEN students.
I teach Secondary Maths and English to small groups at a local secondary school and have good, current knowledge of the common difficulties and areas that need working on. Students do not feel intimidated when I teach them. I help them to unlock their barriers to learning by adapting to the needs of my students.
While living abroad in Italy, I taught English as a Foreign Language for 15 years from A1 to C2 level.

Tutoring Approach

I strongly believe that confidence can be a barrier into learning any new subject or not excelling in a subject that you have been trying to master for years. Once the confidence is unlocked, learning just flows. I use methods that allow students to feel at ease and aids memorisation of new words or concepts, such as card games, photos, flashcards or even music. My experience of living abroad allows me to share my real life experiences and my passion for travel and experiencing other cultures.
