Natalie

My name is Natalie and I am an experienced primary school teacher, currently working four days a week in a Surrey primary school. I achieved Qualified Teacher Status after studying for a BA in Primary Education at The University of Winchester.

One of the most important qualities of a teacher is to be creative and innovative. I believe that children learn better when they are excited and engaged and I am always looking for ways to bring the curriculum to life. I am committed to inspiring and motivating my pupils. Successful teaching is empowering children to move their learning on and enabling them to acknowledge this for themselves.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in a primary school in Surrey for the past thirteen years and have taught a variety of age groups and abilities, including children with additional needs. As I have recent experience teaching in a primary school, I am aware of the latest terminology and methods used in schools in maths and English, so you can be assured that your child will be taught in line with the current national curriculum. I am teaching in Year 6 currently so I have an excellent understanding of what is required to meet the expected standard in the Sats tests. I am also the maths lead at my school so I have a very secure understanding of teaching for mastery and how children learn maths.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in perfection before progression and ensuring a secure understanding of the basics before moving onto more difficult concepts. My teaching style incorporates hands-on learning and real life examples to motivate the child and make more abstract concepts more tangible. My approach is always calm, encouraging and positive.
