Hello! My name is Natalie, and I’m a passionate and dedicated tutor with a special focus on supporting primary-aged children and secondary students up to age 14—particularly those with special educational needs.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies and currently work as both an educational communicator for deaf children and a cover teacher in a primary school. I’m qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) and bring a wealth of experience in inclusive, accessible education.
As a mum of four—including a trainee lawyer and a fun-loving five-year-old—I understand the unique challenges and joys of raising and educating children. My approach is nurturing, patient, and tailored to each child’s individual learning style. I love bringing light, laughter, and confidence into learning environments, and I pride myself on being an excellent communicator and a compassionate listener.
Whether your child needs extra support with English, help building confidence, or someone who understands how to meet special educational needs with care and expertise, I’m here to help them thrive
With over a decade of hands-on experience supporting children of all abilities, I’ve developed a strong foundation in education, communication, and inclusive learning.
I currently work as an educational communicator for deaf children, supporting pupils in both mainstream and specialist settings. This role has deepened my understanding of how to tailor learning for children with a wide range of additional needs, especially in the areas of speech, language, and communication. I am fully qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) and experienced in making learning accessible and engaging for all.
In addition, I work as a cover teacher in a primary school, where I’ve taught across a variety of year groups. This has equipped me with the flexibility, creativity, and classroom management skills needed to support children with differing needs and abilities—from early years through to Key Stage 3.
I’ve recently completed a BA (Hons) in Childhood and Youth Studies, deepening my academic understanding of child development, education policy, and inclusive practice.
Beyond the classroom, I bring real-life experience as a mum of four—supporting children through every stage of their educational journey, from early learning right up to university-level success. This blend of personal and professional experience gives me a deep appreciation of the challenges families face, and the tools to support them effectively
My approach to teaching is child-centred, nurturing, and flexible—because I believe every child learns best when they feel heard, supported, and encouraged.
I take time to understand each child’s individual needs, interests, and learning style, creating a calm, positive environment where they can grow in both confidence and ability. Whether I’m supporting a child with special educational needs, helping a reluctant reader engage with English, or guiding a young learner to reach new milestones, I tailor my sessions to bring out the best in them.
As a qualified BSL communicator and an experienced educator of deaf and neurodiverse children, I understand the importance of clear communication, visual learning, and consistency. I build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, and always work with empathy, patience, and a sense of fun.
My goal is not just to teach—it’s to inspire a love of learning, help children believe in themselves, and give them tools that will last far beyond the classroom.
