As the head of a PE department, I have taught in a variety of different schools since qualifying in 2014. My degree is in both Sport Science and Sport Coaching, which means my knowledge of Physical Education analysis is both extensive and wide ranging. I am very passionate about sports and teaching; I have taught many students during my career, so far. I have taught students for whom English was not their first language, students who were D/E borderline - managing to get C grades, along with those students who were wishing to achieve the A/A* grades. In the summer, I work as an examiner/moderator for OCR and understand what is required in order to achieve a positive grade in the subject.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience through a wide range of exam boards. As a head of department, I lead the teaching and learning of GCSE PE along side overseeing Cambridge National Sport Science and Btec Sport. The school has excelled in PE achieving 75% A-C with last years cohort. I have also vast experience marking and teaching Cambridge National Sport Science coursework with fantastic success in the past.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is that it is something that should be seen as a rewarding and enjoyable experience for both the student and myself. I have worked with exam boards when designing and implementing questions for the exam season and using this knowledge to help students structure their answers. My approach has varied with each child I have tutored, as no two children are the same. I aim to make lessons fun, as research has suggested that fun facilitates learning, and often this is a way in, especially with children with barriers in their learning. It is wonderful to see how a child can flourish and completely change and progress in the subject.
Also, I am on the DBS update service, so you can see my clearance.
Please note that I am unable to write university essays, I can offer advice and feedback on what has already been written, but I am not prepared to write an essay.
