Please feel free to get in touch to discuss how I can help your child thrive—I’d be delighted to support their learning journey.
I’ve been a primary school teacher for over 15 years, working across all year groups from Reception to Year 6. During that time, I’ve taught the full range of primary subjects and supported pupils with a wide variety of learning needs and abilities.
Much of my experience has involved helping children build confidence in core areas like English and Maths, preparing them for SATs, and supporting pupils through key transitions — whether that’s starting school, moving up a year, or getting ready for secondary.
I’ve also worked with children who need extra support, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs), and I always adapt my approach to suit each child’s individual learning style and pace.
As a classroom teacher, I’ve always believed in positive encouragement, clear structure, and making learning enjoyable. These values carry through into my one-to-one tutoring, where I aim to provide a calm, friendly space for children to thrive.
My teaching style is calm, supportive, and tailored to each child. I take time to understand how each learner thinks, where their strengths lie, and where they may need a little extra help or encouragement. Whether a child needs to build confidence, fill in gaps, or be stretched further, I adjust each lesson to suit their pace and learning style.
I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and motivated — so I work hard to create a positive, relaxed environment where they can ask questions and enjoy the learning process.
Lessons are structured but flexible, with a clear focus on building skills step by step. I use a mix of explanation, guided practice, interactive activities, and regular feedback to help children take ownership of their progress.
Above all, I aim to help each child feel capable, confident, and proud of their achievements — no matter where they’re starting from.
