I am a current, practising Maths teacher in a prestigious grammar school. There are many tutors available with a range of backgrounds but I believe it makes a huge difference to have a current teacher who is in the mainstream of syllabus changes and exam board feedback and training and who is teaching from the same textbooks as the student is often using at school.

Tutoring Approach

I tend to tutor and ahead or behind the taught syllabus. This provides a grounding for new topics so that the student has confidence when the topic arises in class and a sweep of slightly historic topics to see if they have stuck (providing consolidation for tests).
