I have over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher, private tutor and examiner. Being a specialist in GCSE and A level I possess extensive knowledge in my subject specialisms and pedagogy. I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working with students to develop their knowledge and understanding and see them progress rapidly.

Tutoring Experience

I have consistently been a highly successful teacher and personal tutor and have extensive experience as a GCSE and A level teacher and examiner.
For History, I have expreince in teaching a wide range of History options at both A level and GCSE. Likewise, in Politics, I have experience in and I am able to teach all units and options, for all exam boards. I have also achieved excellent results in both History and Government and Politics. Furthermore, I work with exam boards through training and exam consultation and have access to their secure websites and resources.
I have also successfully been a Politics and History A Level personal tutor to home schooled students.
I specialise in supporting students with essay writing technique, especially year 11 and year 13 coursework and I have been involved in the planning and teaching of the 9-1 GCSE curriculum. I also tutor the IGCSE History and RS.

I have tutored and moderated the EPQ (extended project) and can offer tuition and guidance in this.
I able to provide intensive revision courses and can offer a discount for group lessons. Furthermore, I have experience in tutoring University Access courses and Adult Education.
I have consistently achieved excellent results as a personal tutor.

I take a relaxed, personalised and engaging approach to tutoring to ensure rapid and sustained progress.
I adapt my teaching to the needs of my students and the style of learning that enables them to make the greatest progress. As part of this process I use an introductory lesson to establish the needs of the student and then create a clear medium term plan to ensure success.
