I thoroughly enjoy working with children and young adults; I have a variety of skills and qualities such as listening and caring which promote an active and engaging environment. However, when I am not working, I spend my time reading non - fiction sources, travelling the world with family and going to the theatre, when I can! The activities I appreciate the most on my travels are embracing new and different cultures and not too mention the food tours, which have an influence on my cooking when I return home! I attend yoga to relax and improve my core. Finally, I love spending time with my family, we do lots of entertaining things together, I believe it's vital to have a work life balance, family time is precious and It's something that I cherish!

I have extensive experience in working with young people from the ages of 1 – 18 years old and further educational learners through private tuition. I also have experience working with young people with a wide-range of learning capacities and capabilities. For example, I have worked with young adults who have learning difficulties and specific disabilities, this has allowed me to identify and understand different learning needs and how it impacts on everyday tasks within the classroom. My diverse teaching experiences with young children have equipped me with outstanding organisation and communication skills with the unique ability to be confident in managing tough workloads.
In my most current teaching roles within schools, I have been teaching KS3 and 4 English within secondary schools in London as a long-term supply teacher. I have been planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the current AQA GCSE language and literature specifications (Grade 9- 1). My teaching style within the learning environment aims to promote independent learning, self-motivation and confidence building within the subject, and this is achieved through giving positive feedback to all learners. Reflective practice helps me to identify areas of improvement, which allows me to see what teaching style is suitable for me and my learners and to be aware of what works well or does not work well in the learning environment. My teaching experience has enabled me to build an in-depth understanding of the national curriculum and draw up my own schemes of work and lesson plans in order to develop effective methods of planning and teaching, whilst utilising a range of assessment techniques and resources.
I believe as a tutor, children should enjoy their learning experience, as well as getting the very best from their learning environment. Thus, I am aware of setting SMART targets for myself and my tutees. The use of the SMART targets makes my teaching process effective, productive and the learning experience rich and enjoyable for the tutees. I have also structured schemes of work and produced lesson plans with achievable lesson aims and outcomes which will allow me to assess the learning taking place in each session.
Students are given the opportunity to work through pass examination papers to prepare and give them an understanding of how to answer examination style questions in the correct time frame. Lesson also enable students to start thinking critically for themselves and promote and encourage independent learning outside of 1-1 lessons. There is also an expectation for students to be completing homework to a high standard and a responsibility of managing learning time. By creating fruitful lesson and preparing engaging learning activities using current teaching methods and learning resources, this will enable me to identify students strengths and weakness. In addition, this will allow me to challenge students and put interventions in place when needed.
