Initial discussions with pupils are essential determining specific needs and goals; my lessons are planned carefully with a variety of different activities and approaches. Technical accuracy in spelling & punctuation are both vital: I use web programme Quizlet setting regular weekly spelling & vocabulary homework and Commonlit site plus longer written assignments submitted and marked in advance. I require payment by BACS 2 days in advance of each lesson and a deposit of one week's tuition, which is refunded as the last lesson is free. 24 hours notice for cancellation is essential in which case I will try to arrange another lesson in that week. Regular weekly feedback for parents and pupils is provided with constructive suggestions to help my students achieve their potential; I know entry to Russell group universities is highly competitive requiring a high English GCSE grade.
