I am a 54 year old semi-retired father of two who loves helping students bring the best out of themselves in a relaxed and positive environment.

Tutoring Experience

18 years teaching 11-18 year olds in state schools.
2 years teaching adults Functional Skills Maths in a prison.
6 years tutoring students to pass GCSE/A level exams and to consolidate/extend learning in between - from year 7 to adults.

Tutoring Approach

My job is to relieve the students’ stress and help them believe in themselves. I’m both their safety net when they struggle in class and the one who shows them just what they are capable of. If they are aiming very high I will stretch them from an early stage in ways that are both manageable and exciting.
