I live in beautiful, rural Shropshire with my young family. I am a passionate academic and educator. I treat all of my students, of any age, as individuals, enjoying helping all students to unlock their full potential.
12 years experience in a highly academic, independent boarding school. Roughly half of the pupils were from overseas, predominantly from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Russia and Ukraine. I taught Maths at Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to 9); Maths, Statistics & Further Maths at GCSE/Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and 11); and Maths & Further Maths at A’ Level/Key Stage 5 (Year 12 and 13). The majority of pupils were working towards Oxbridge or Russell group university places.
I am currently Head of Maths at a school on the special education sector, working with pupils with a range of additional needs. I teach from Year 7 to Post 16, working towards GCSE Maths along side the Functional Skills curriculum.
I work towards each individuals needs. For those who are working completely independently, I can develop an appropriate curriculum and provide structured lessons with engaging activities and assessment. For students who have good base knowledge but need to boost confidence, reduce anxiety, fill gaps in knowledge or rectify misconceptions, I can take a more Q&A style approach to sessions.
