I am a PhD researcher specialising in Linguistics and parallel to that, I teach English and Persian to individuals from different ages and linguistic backgrounds. I am currently working as a language teacher at both the Virtual Persian Academy and Kingswood Academy.
Aside from my work as a language teacher, I have actively written articles in both English and Persian, as well as translated stories and articles from English and Arabic into Persian.
I have extensive experience teaching English and Persian as a second/foreign language and have provided one to one and classroom teaching to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Syntax (grammar) and Critical Discourse Analysis are my areas of expertise in linguistics.
I have worked with students on their essay writing skills, focusing on critical thinking and source evaluation, argument structure, and academic writing ability.
In the past, I have also offered proofreading services to academics and authors.
I have taught in schools and academies, where I gained invaluable experience and knowledge in teaching languages to SEN learners as well as gifted and talented students.
I like to start by talking to the student and finding out where they believe their weaknesses are. Simple assessments, such as past exam papers, can also highlight areas that need to be addressed.
I am extremely friendly and patient, which contributes to a relaxed learning environment in which it is acceptable to make mistakes.
I am happy to assign and grade homework outside of class to assist students in reaching their goal(s).
