My daughter and I are delighted to have found Oscar to support her through A-level maths. He is really friendly and approachable, and teaches in a very engaging way. My daughter comes out every week feeling really good about her maths and that she understands the areas she was finding tough. He is super knowledgeable. Communication is great - Oscar messages each week to find out what my daughter would like to work on so he can prepare. He helps her to consolidate and expand on what she’s covered in school meaning she feels really confident with the material. I would 100% recommend Oscar, he is brilliant!

We were looking for assistance for our Son as he approached his GCSEs and was finding Maths especially challenging. We contacted Oscar via First Tutors and he provided seamless, patient on-line support during the weeks prior to (and during) the exams. Our Son succeeded in achieving a passing grade and we are in no doubt that a significant contribution to this was the help and advice that Oscar provided. We highly recommend him to anyone in a similar position.

Finding Oscar has been a godsend. We found him just before the Easter of my son's GCSE's & he managed to crack so many tricky mathematical areas & give my child confidence to hopefully achieve a higher grade than if we hadn't of found him. Oscar knows his stuff & is an excellent teacher, giving clear explanations & always having everything available to practice with him. He knows the exam board & how to tackle questions & after each exam my son came home saying, "I knew exactly how to answer 'x' as Oscar had thankfully taught me!" Fingers crossed his results will reflect the tutoring.
We're now hoping Oscar can work his magic & help support him throughout maths A'level.

Oscar has tutored my son for several months in the run up to his GCSEs.Oscar is personable and understanding and has been particularly helpful at focusing on areas of Maths that our son was less confident in.Our son feels he can say if he doesn't understand something and Oscar will work through the problem with him in a well structured way without over complicating it.Oscar has a clear presentation style with screen sharing that is easy to view.
From my own view point Oscar also responds very promptly to any texts.
Tuition with Oscar has been a good experience and he is going into his Maths GCSE exam with allt more confidence.

I’ve had Oscar as a tutor for 4 weeks now and his help has been extremely useful.
He explains topics in very simple but detailed ways, and I find the way he teaches on the iPad to be very easy to understand.
A lot gets done in the hour sessions, so I can feel myself improving quickly and I feel comfortable asking questions which I may have been too embarrassed to ask in class at school.

Oscar has been tutoring my daughter who is in year 10 for the last two months and it has already made a huge difference. My daughter has a statistics GCSE to sit in June and has been finding it difficult to keep up in school but having the one to one support is making all the difference. Oscar takes her through the tasks and helps her to keep focused in a way that's really helping her to build confidence. The material is really challenging but Oscar's knowledge is fantastic and he is very calm, friendly and approachable.

Oscar is currently supporting my daughter with her maths GCSE. He is extremely conscientious and approachable in his style. He understands how maths is taught today in schools, allowing him to manage his tutoring of the subject in the the best possible manner. He takes his time to understand the level of the student and apply the appropriate strategies to develop their capabilities so as to be prepared for the exams.

Oscar is tutoring our Year 11 daughter to prepare for her IGCSE Maths exam. After only a couple of sessions, she is more confident and better able to tackle past papers. She responds well to Oscar and we can see progress. Oscar has the right combination of maths expertise, combined with an approachable, friendly teaching style.

Oscar is a very reliable tutor. He is always on time and is friendly and polite. My son has improved so much in just a few sessions. Oscar worked with us to prepare for GCSE Maths. He was very centred around the areas my daughter wanted to focus on, the lessons were very interactive with excellent use of technology to support that, and Oscar was very approachable which meant my daughter could easily ask if something didn’t make sense. Oscar was very flexible about times and always organised.

Oscars style is calm and friendly which really puts my son at ease. He is professional, knowledgeable and communicates well to both my son and i. He has been helping my son with quadratics and has been amazing. So thankful that we found Oscar. I would highly recommend.

Oscar is proving to be an invaluable tutor to my twin boys as they work towards their Maths gcse. Within a short space of time their confidence in Maths has grown through Oscar’s ability to explain the most complicated maths in a simplistic and memorable way. Oscar is a fantastic tutor, he is young, relaxed and very bright and he takes his tutoring very seriously. He is always keen to prepare well for the lesson, and he also sends notes post-lesson if he thinks of any extra points to add, or wants to send any handwritten notes on a paper. He is kind and professional, a great communicator and I would highly recommend him.

Oscar was extremely helpful during the session explaining something I initially found so complex in a way that was very manageable and understandable! He also created some easy to understand notes in addition to some questions with his own worked examples in preparation for our session which he then emailed me to keep as revision notes.
