Professional maths tutor with 1st-class Mathematics degree and teacher training from the University of Oxford. I specialise in primary, secondary and A-level maths.
Previously taught maths as a classroom teacher in two local Oxfordshire schools, I now work as a private tutor full-time. I have five years experience as a tutor with a 100% success rate of students achieving their target grade or higher.
From experience I have found that confidence is a key issue for many students; I work patiently with them to build this over time. I tailor my lessons specifically for each student. For primary school and Year 7 students I make maths more fun, creative and engaging. I will often use real-life examples such as dividing sweets for ratios. With Year 8 - 11 students lessons are more focused on the school syllabus, particularly the new curriculum as several A-level topics have been moved down to GCSE. My A-level tutoring focuses on exam-style techniques and targeted revision.
In addition to traditional face-to-face tutoring, I also provide tailored homework for each of my students after every lesson - I have found this to be key in helping students retain what they have learned.
I am happy to tutor online as it is something I am very experienced in. In addition, I offer the first lesson free-of-charge as a trial lesson to see if the lessons are the right fit.
