I have been working in or teaching business since graduating from University. I spent over twenty years in Sales and Marketing in various industries both at home in the UK and in export markets before turning to teaching around twenty years ago. Being semi-retired I now find I have the time available to help others at both GCSE and A level to master the skills required to become particularly proficient in the subject. I haven't tutored on a one to one basis before but run skills workshops where invited students come to further their skills

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in the FE/sixth form sector for twenty years and continue to teach A level Business Studies on a part-time basis. I have also spent many years as a senior examiner for the largest A level awarding body monitoring the quality of examiners. I have also recently been appointed to the senior examining team for IGCSE Business Studies and helped setting it up as a separate subject at the college where I teach. In recent times I have also become involved in assessing the new T level qualifications to level 2

Tutoring Approach

I would expect tutees to approach me with specific problems or issues where they need improvement and would see my greatest skill to be in teaching the kind of technique that is likely to attract the higher marks in an examination. In the current environment I am quite willing to offer help through on-line facilities such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
