I am a teacher with two kids: one 20 and one 18; both away at University.
I've got lots of experience teaching A level, GCSE and Year 6 SATs - my specialism is English.
I have 25 years teaching experience. I am secondary trained and have taught A level, GCSE and KS3 exams for 20 years.
I have spent the last 5 years leading Primary schools, specialising in teaching SATs and 11+selection tests.
I have a flexible approach - whatever suits the tutee best.
At the moment many pupils are having to focus on upcoming GCSE January mocks and I can offer tutoring on any of the English key texts (eg Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck) offering revision or teaching on the areas being examined: character, setting and theme as well as plot and social and historical context. I can discuss key quotes and how to use this evidence in analysis.
Many A level student are doing the same with The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald which I have taught extensively at A level. I also have extensive knowledge on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and how it is examined.
