I am passionate about teaching Maths. I am calm and patient and students often comment on my ability to explain concepts clearly and instil confidence and enjoyment of the subject in them.
I am married with two grown up sons and have recently moved to Cornwall.
I have taught Maths at secondary schools for 31 years. During that time I was a Head of Maths for 5 years, 10 years as a Deputy Head and 5 years as a Head Teacher. Throughout my career I gave the highest priority to my teaching and achieved excellent results throughout.
I have been doing individual tuition since 2016. I have helped my students achieve excellent exam results and have received very positive feedback from all my tutees.
I also tutored adults through my role as initial teacher training manager and helped staff members prepare for Maths GCSE or equivalent qualifications. I have recently retired from full time teaching but keep up to date with developments and have continued to mark GCSE exam papers.
I take time to understand the students' strengths and weaknesses in order to build up from their prior learning and aim for deep understanding. I strive to make the subject enjoyable and build confidence in the learner.
