I am a friendly, outgoing maths teacher. I currently work in a special school for those with autism, although I have also worked with school refusers and in mainstream secondary schools in the past.
I have been a maths teacher for over 8 years, in addition to being a GCSE Examiner for the past 2 years. I have mainly taught to the Edexcel specification, although I am able to teach to other exam board specifications on request. I have tutored many students in the past who have all been pleased with my tutoring.
I understand the skills and knowledge that students need to pass the 9-1 GCSE. I currently work day to day as a teacher in a special school for students with autism; previously I have also worked in mainstream secondary schools, and with school refusers. I am therefore confident working with a wide range of students of differing abilities and improving their maths skills. I specialise in helping students sitting Foundation tier although on request I can help with Higher tier students too.
I have a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics in addition to QTS.
I strongly believe that everyone is able to do maths when it is calmly and patiently explained to them and they are given enough time to take the new information on. Maths is an important skill for life, and so I aim to boost student's confidence as well as equipping them with new skills. I know lots of different methods for teaching the same content, and lots of little tricks which help students remember key content.
