Married with three children. Eldest son a married Music Graduate who is a director of his own business, Second son geography masters graduate, and a daughter who serves as an officer in the Royal Air Force. My extra-curricular interests help me to engage with students within school. I have previously been a trustee of the Friends of the Lancashire Schools Symphony Orchestras. In my spare time I am a keen runner, racing regularly with Accrington Roadrunners. I am also an enthusiastic fly fisherman and casting instructor and a member of British Chorus Champions 'The Cottontown Chorus'

Tutoring Experience

Senior member of staff (Head of Year) in a Lancashire secondary school. Presently teaching chemistry, physics and biology to GCSE and to KS3 in a private school in Lancashire. Experience of teaching BTEC Science, geography, geology and environmental science.
Have previous experience of tutoring privately to GCSE and KS3.

Tutoring Approach

Making sure that the syllabus is closely monitored, and the specification worked to. I ensure that all material in the module or final exam is covered AND understood. I make use of worksheets and revision guides and past papers where appropriate.
