With over 10 continuous years of experience as a chemistry lecturer in further education, I’ve navigated the ups and downs of everything from Level 4 to HNC/HND, including the ever-exciting world of Higher Chemistry. During this time, I didn’t just juggle chemical equations—I also juggled parenthood. Picture me teaching covalent bonding while simultaneously solving the mystery of the missing socks at home. Spoiler: the socks were never found, but my passion for chemistry and teaching only grew stronger!
Before my kids came along, I spent three wonderful years as a 1:1 tutor, where I had the pleasure of helping students conquer the periodic table, one element at a time. I found immense joy in working closely with people, breaking down complex concepts, and watching the "Aha!" moments light up their faces.
Now that my kids are older and have (mostly) outgrown their experimental phases—though they still think baking soda volcanoes are the pinnacle of scientific discovery—I’m excited to return to tutoring. I’m ready to bring my love for chemistry, my teaching expertise, and perhaps a few parental survival skills back to the table. Whether you’re wrestling with reaction rates or need a guiding hand through Gibbs free energy, I’m here and eager to help you find the fun in chemistry, one reaction at a time!
I have graduated with a BSc (Hons) Chemistry from University of
Aberdeen and MSc with distinction in Analytical Chemistry from
RGU. I have completed my MSc thesis in Switzerland working for
Nestle. 10 years experience as a lecturer.
I aim to make each session engaging and tailored to your unique learning style.
Think of me as your personal chemistry guide, here to help you navigate the periodic table with confidence and maybe even a laugh or two along the way. Whether you're stuck on stoichiometry or baffled by balancing equations, I’ll break it down into bite-sized pieces, with plenty of real-world examples and quirky analogies to make those tricky concepts stick.
I don’t just want you to memorize formulas—I want you to understand the why behind the what. My goal is to help you see chemistry not as a subject to survive, but as a fascinating world to explore. And hey, if we can have some fun and maybe a few “Eureka!” moments along the way, all the better!
