Peter is a very conscientious teacher: he knows, thanks to his long teaching experience, how to adapt the lessons to what the student needs. Always on time, nice and friendly, he speaks distinctly and clearly, with very good English. Patient and demanding about the teaching, he is culturally well read; also, our lessons were not only very educational in helping my written English but also for the discussions we had on many different subjects.

We wanted someone to support our daughter in A level history (A2s), specifically on the Rise of the Nazis. While Peter was clearly very knowledgeable about Hitler and well-prepared, we felt after two sessions that his relatively didactic style wasn't the best match for our daughter's preference for a more interactive approach to learning.

Thank you for marking me highly out of 5. As your daughter's knowledge on this subject was limited, unfortunately a more interactive approach was difficult to achieve, and I may have come across as a little didactic. It would have been very helpful if your daughter had been able to draw my attention to the fact that she felt my style of teaching was not working for her, and then I would have altered my approach.

My daughter needed some help with her modern history A2 in particular understanding and working with sources. Peter was able to help her by discussing sources enabling her to interpret information and extract the pertinent points, thereby building her confidence and getting her on a track whereby she could continue to work sucessfully on her own.

We asked Peter for some one to one lessons for our son who will be taking his GCSE English Language in November. Peter is always punctual, friendly and has understood our instructions clearly. Our son has enjoyed the lessons and has shown improvement in his writing skills, and this has given him more confidence in preparation for his forthcoming examination. Thank you Peter!

Josh has settled well to his lessons. He was initially reluctant to come because he does not enjoy learning, but the lessons have been tailored to meet his requirements and his personality rather than "general" and he now engages well and recognised he is being helped.

Peter played a HUGE part in the fact that my son received a fantastic grade in his recent A level result with all the three topics of the History A level syllabus that Peter had been involved in resutling in 'A' grades. Peter is reliable, punctual and extremely conscientous, even making himself availabe on Bank Holidays over Easter. Peter went out of his way to do extra research in certain areas in his own time to enable him to pass on insightful and interesting information above and beyond the syllabus. I cannot fault him and have no hesitation in recommending him as a History tutor. Our son is now thinking of reading Histiory at university after his gap year and feels inspired to learn more.

This extra hour one on one tutoring is really helping Harry.Peter has really helped Harry him to slow down and concentrate on his handwriting.

Peter has been simply superb in helping our 14 year old daughter with her English. Expert, patient and clear he has taught her a considerable amount in areas such as sentence construction, the various styles of writing, the correct use of grammar and how to use a richer vocabulary. The results have been significant and our daughter's skills in English have gone from strength to strength and she is now doing very well in this subject. I have no hesitation in recommending Peter to anyone who has a child who would benefit with help in studying English.
