I am an Exercise and Rehabilitation researcher at University of Exeter. I gained a PhD in Health Science, focussing on physical activity in people with type 2 diabetes, from University of Leicester. I have also completed an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science and Medicine at University of Glasgow. Further to my career as a researcher, I have maintained an active role as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for over 10 years am and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
I have been actively working as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for over 10 years and have also been developing my career path as a Sport and Exercise researcher for most of that time.
As a tutor I have helped people from Undergraduate up to Masters level to better understand complex concepts and improve their writing and presentation skills. I have also mentored several personal trainers and strength and conditioning coaches to help them increase the effectiveness of their training.
I believe learning should be friendly and informal. I find that people, regardless of age or experience level, learn the most when they are relaxed. I see tutoring the same as coaching - each individual needs their own plan and approach.
