My name is Philip Removedand I am a tutor and university graduate! In 2024, I completed my degree in English Language and Literature from University College London (UCL), with Upper Second Class Honours. I am passionate about tutoring, and enjoy helping children reach their potential! My hobbies include playing the piano, football and acting.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring over the last 3 years, working with students aged 10-18. Having initially worked for My Tutor, I moved onto private tuition, in which I primarily taught GCSE students English Literature and English Language, while also tutoring subjects such as Maths, History and Science. I have tutored over 10 for their GCSEs, having a 100% pass rate and helping them improve their marks by an average of 3.5 grades.

More recently, I have tutored A Level students in English Literature and History. This has included helping a student in their UCAS application for English Literature at Bristol University.

I have also tutored a number of students in preparation of their 11+ exams, helping them in their applications to grammar and independent schools across London.

Tutoring Approach

I cater to every students needs, ensuring they are able to reach their potential while enjoying the subject! I hope I can not only improve their learning, but also inspire their passion for the subject. When students are lacking confidence in the classroom, I believe one to one work in a supporting environment can help them realise their own ability. Having taught students of a wide range of personalities and learning styles, I understand that every student is different, and always consider this while teaching.
