Hello, my name is Phil.
I have recently moved to Penzance and teach at a school in town.
My passion is teaching mathematics.
Over 25 years teaching Mathematics to 11 to 18 year olds. Including 20 years teaching at a top independent school in Suffolk and 6 years as Head of Mathematics at a large international school in Muscat, Oman.
In Oman our school became World Record holders for the “longest human representation of digits of pi” with 1182 participants.
I have IB, IGCSE, GCSE, A Level and Further Maths experience as well as being an A level examiner which gives me an up-to-date insight into examination technique.
Building confidence is key. With one-to-one tutoring, weaknesses can be rapidly identified and then, by delivering ideas to capture understanding along with practice questions, rapid progress can be made.
