I am a graduate and recently moved back to Glasgow after living in England. I have always enjoyed reading and writing and love to analyse books, plays and poems. I also love working with people of all ages, and focus on tailoring each experience so all students can connect with the material in a way that suits them and helps them to build their confidence.
I am an active listener who is very interested in English Literature and Language. I received As on every English exam as a student and went on to study writing for a HNC course in Glasgow. I also studied English at university and left with a 2:1 degree. During secondary school, I volunteered at a charity to work with children from disadvantaged backgrounds, helped them with their homework, and encouraged them to read.
My teaching approach is supportive and adaptive. I try my best to create an environment where we tackle challenges together and there are no silly questions. I aim to inspire the student to not only understand but enjoy the material we work on. Whether it’s having big mind-maps or reading aloud or the look, cover, write, check method, I like to make sure that the child is taking in the information and is enjoying their learning experience.
