I hold a 2:1 Master's in Physics from Heriot-Watt University. I did my schooling in India which is slightly harder than an Advanced Highers in the UK. I aspire to be a researcher and an academic in the future.
I currently teach Mathematics and Physics to a highers student, who I used to teach in National 5 too. Helped him improve his grades from F to C for Physics and D to A for Maths. Also taught Nat 5 Maths to his brother, whose grades went from F to B.
I have taught Maths to another National 5 student, whose grades improved from D to B.
I have also taught Maths to two 2nd year robotics students at Heriot-Watt University, improving their grades from 50% to 85% and 60% to 93%.
Outside of the UK, I have taught Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English to underpriviliged kids in India, resultng in progrssion to their next school year.
I begin by gaining a thorough understanding of each student’s prior experience with the subject, allowing me to see things from their perspective. This helps me tailor my teaching approach to their unique strengths, challenges, and learning style. I then design and plan my sessions to match the student’s individual pace, ensuring that the material is accessible and engaging. Each lesson incorporates moderate amounts of practice questions to reinforce concepts, building both confidence and mastery over time.
In my approach to teaching Maths and Physics, I like to compare the learning process to maintaining a high-quality knife: it requires consistent honing and sharpening. Just as a knife's edge improves with regular attention, I believe that continual practice and incremental improvement lead to mastery. My goal is to provide students with the tools, guidance, and practice they need to sharpen their skills and excel in these subjects.
