Having been awarded Head boy role at my college and now reading medicine in my fifth year at one of the most prestigious medical schools in the world, Imperial College London, I understand the great rewards that a good education can provide. My primary drive in wanting to teach others stems from the very fact that anyone can achieve top grades, as long as they understand key concepts, and know how to apply them.
Captaining my sixth form debate team in the Oxford union debating competitions I am able to communicate with students clearly and concisely to help them obtain top grades.
My primary drive for mathematics started in Year 8 where I entered the Leeds University Mathematics challenge through my school, and in Year 9 I was invited to the British secondary mathematics masterclass 2015 at Kimberly College, where I attended lectures by mathematicians
Having done tutoring for 5 years now I have a plethora of experience. I started in year 12 teaching the year 11s in my school to help them obtain the highest grades possibe. Additionally I have tutored at a tutoring agency in year 12 where I taught children from 5 years all the way up to 16 years, giving me the skills and experience needed to teach people at all levels.
Since then I have been tutoring for multiple tutoring agencies and my experience with each student has showed no two students are alike, therefore I tailor my sessions to suit each individual to help them obtain top grades.
I offer online tutoring and my lessons involve teaching a concept then attempting as many exam questions as possible in order to familiarise the student with exam style questions.
My approach to tutoring is to make lessons both educational but also interactive. A key to being successful in exams is to be able to tackle critical exam techniques which I will aim to to go through thoroughly. I believe that no matter how much you study, you cannot be successful if you don't enjoy the subject, therefor I will stimulate an interest in the subject and make sure my students are enjoying the lessons.
I have a fresh understanding of the struggles and nature of exams, and therefore I know where the exam boards try to catch you out students and will tailor my teaching to suit the student and help them see these traps to get those top grades.
