A patient, kind and caring maths tutor with heaps of experience.
I have graduated in Mathematical Sciences from City University, London achieving First-Class Honours and am very confident in my mathematical skills. At A-level I achieved an A* and have also had the opportunity to study Mathematics in India for a few years. I have a strong academic background and teaching is a great passion of mine.
My current role is as an auditor for Lloyds Banking Group and I have free time in the evenings and weekends to be able to tutor.
I believe I have an outgoing personality and am very personable and approachable.
I have helped students bring their grades up from Cs and Ds to As in the space of a couple of months.
I have tutored in City of London Academy, Islington for Year 7 & 8s and tutor privately for all ages.
My tutoring style is very thorough. I will make the student understand why something is done in a certain way rather than just how and try to suggest alternative ways to solve a problem or answer a question that they may find easier. I am very personable and make sure that the student understands I am there to tend to their academic needs and will do whatever I can to help. I like to make sure a student is comfortable enough to want to ask as many questions as they need and make them aware there is no such thing as a stupid question.
I use my own worksheets and also the student's textbooks to teach, making sure the student is the one answering all the questions while I help guide them in the right direction. This allows them to think and come up with solutions for themselves.
