Hi, I am Mrs K. I am an experienced Primary School teacher, with expertise across the Primary School Curriculum. I’m a qualified teacher with BA HONS degree in Primary Education and an expert in Reading, Writing and Oracy.
Beyond the world of teaching, I am a mum of two energetic boys, I love cooking, museums, travelling and so much more. Anyone that knows me, knows I love all aspects of Primary School learning! However, if I had to choose one area, it would have to be Reading! A good book can really ignite the imagination.
I absolutely love teaching and luckily for me I have taught for over fifteen years (and counting). I have taught across both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, gaining expert knowledge in the Primary National Curriculum, and most importantly developing a variety of teaching methods to suit every child’s learning style. As part of my teaching experience, I have also worked in leadership for over 10 years, this has allowed me to develop English across schools, improving outcomes for children.
I am a hugely experienced teacher, having worked in every year from Y1 to Y6 in a Primary School.

My mission
My core belief is a confident person will feel ready to learn. I build confidence and boost success in the classroom and beyond. I believe that every child should have the chance to succeed in education to enable them to have the educational experience they rightfully deserve. With lessons aligned to the Primary National curriculum, I provide expert knowledge to help your child meet their learning needs. I am a qualified teacher with a
vast experience.
My most important mission is to encourage and develop lifelong learners, I want children to discover their love of learning and achieve their full potential and enjoy doing it.
Lesson overviews
My carefully planned reading sessions are designed to achieve a balance between developing the key reading skills and developing a long-term reading love for reading. My early reader sessions focus on phonetical skills and early reading skills. Our primary reading sessions focus on developing retrieval, inference, understanding vocabulary in context and most importantly studying a wide range of exciting texts. I am an advocate for reqding for pleasure, therefore within reading lessons it is deeply important to embed a love for reading too.
Writing lessons are linked closely to reading, where children develop their writing using high quality texts and exciting books. A well-chosen text provides rich language models and structures from which children can learn how writing works and the effect it can have on a reader. With a rich diet of quality texts and enriching experiences, children can develop a style that fits the purpose, audience and form intended.
Writing focuses on developing effective transcription and effective composition. Writing develops an awareness of the audience, purpose and context, and an increasingly wide knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. I want children to feel like an author- with well-planned bespoke writing sessions – I believe children can rapidly develop a love for writing.
Lessons follow a mastery approach to teaching mathematics. I believe this approach gives children the best chance of acquiring a deep, secure understanding of mathematics. This approach is underpinned by five key ideas: coherence, representation, mathematical thinking, fluency.
Wider Curriculum
All wider Curriculum sessions are linked closely to the curriculum but maintain excitement and a love for learning beyond core subjects.
