I am a highly experienced full-time private tutor and have been tutoring since graduating with a First-Class honours degree in 2010 and full time since completing my PGCE in Economics and Business Studies at UCL. Prior to commencing my Economics degree, I attended Old Palace School of John Whitgift where I completed my GCSE’s and A levels. I achieved 3 A’s in Government and Politics, French and Economics A level. I have accumulated a wealth of experience, having taught in China for one year, worked in three London schools, been a senior tutor at a tuition centre, home-schooled students with complex needs and delivered online tuition to students across the globe, I am adept at working with a wide range of pupils of different abilities.
I have a particular interest in teaching KS1 and KS2 Mathematics and English, with special experience teaching for the 7+, 11+ and Common Entrance examinations. I have successfully tutored students for entrance into Dulwich College, Wallington County Grammar School, Cumnor House, St.Dunstans, among others, as well as Oxbridge applications. I have lessons in Dubai, Jamaica, Ghana and England. I run my own group Saturday tuition classes in Maths and English, aged between 3 and 14. I am fascinated by the application of Economics and Business Studies, I strive to instil my passion for my subjects within my students. Having achieved a first class honours in Economics and teaching both Business Studies and Economics in an outstanding grammar school, I am equipped to teach at a high standard. At present, I am an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel Business Studies and Economics A level examinations, this experience has enabled me to mark an abundance of students scripts who have been taught using various methods and in differing environments, this has enhanced my understanding and given me a deeper insight into how to teach various examination techniques. As the A level and GCSE exams were not able to take place in the summer of 2021, I invigilated and marked the exams for Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies A level and GCSE in the UK and South Africa, online. This was a challenging time for many students, however all of my students came out with amazing results. I have extensive experience with working with students who have found Mathematics challenging and mathematically able students aiming for the highest results. I believe that everyone can understand Mathematics, if it is explained in the right way. I pride myself on making even the densest topics interesting and accessible. My 2021 GCSE results: Maths 100% 8 and 9; English 96% 7- 9; Economics 100% 8 and 9, Business Studies 96% 7-9. My 2021 A level results: Economics 100% A* and A; Business Studies 100%; Maths 100% A* and A.
I am running a SUMMER SCHOOL for 4 weeks, Monday to Wednesday from 9am to 3pm in Dulwich. KS1 to KS4. The day will be split up into academic lessons, arts and crafts and sports activities.
I am passionate about empowering young people to take ownership of their studies and get excited about the doors education can open, whether that’s getting into a particular school, mapping the path for a future vocation or just exploring a fascinating new topic. I believe that one-on-one tuition gives students the perfect opportunity to ask questions which would perhaps not be thoroughly answered in a class environment and I often find that through this process my students develop a real passion for subjects which they previously didn’t necessarily enjoy. After an initial session to assess a student, I will tailor lesson plans based on ability and the school or result they want to achieve. GROUP lessons also available, maximum if 5 students per group.
