I am a fully qualified maths teacher with over 8 years experience teaching maths at all levels in the classroom in both England and Wales. I have tutored individuals and small groups of students for both KS3 and GCSE. The most important part of teaching for me, is to increase a student's confidence in maths which has allows them to believe in themselves and thrive in mathematics rather than dread the subject.
When my daughter started school I decided I wanted to teach. I completed a maths enhancement course at the University of Chester before starting a PGCE there a year later. During this time I volunteered and completed placements in various local high schools.
I have experience teaching mathematics from ages 11-18. This includes KS3, GCSE, GCSE resit, core maths and A-level maths. I have taught in both England and Wales and have a good understanding of Edexcel, AQA, WJEC and OCR exam boards.
I am very approachable, calm and good at ensuring students feel comfortable.
I am adaptable and my approach will depend on the students' needs.
I am happy to work with teachers, parents/carers and the student to ensure the learning is tailored to each individual student. Everybody learns differently and it is important to me that I can adapt to suit the students learning journey.
