I am a dedicated and passionate educator who thrives on helping students reach their full potential. Organised and strategic, I take a methodical approach to teaching, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement. I am also an active and determined person outside of work—I love paddleboarding, and I challenge myself by running marathons. Alongside my teaching career, I am studying part-time to become a counsellor, as I am deeply interested in supporting others beyond the classroom.
I am an experienced sociology (qualified in 2006) and criminology teacher, currently teaching AQA A Level Sociology and WJEC Applied Diploma in Criminology. Previously, as Head of Faculty for Humanities, I led a large team, developed curriculum strategies, and mentored teachers. I have also worked as a GCSE Sociology examiner for OCR and AQA.
My teaching approach is strategic, with a strong exam focus to ensure students achieve their best possible outcomes. I use data-driven methods to identify gaps in knowledge and skills, tailoring lessons to address these areas effectively. My teaching is structured, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of key concepts while refining exam techniques. I embed regular assessment and feedback to track progress, adapting my approach as needed. I also prioritise critical thinking and independent learning, equipping students with the confidence and skills to succeed. My goal is to create an engaging, supportive environment that fosters academic achievement.
